Throw Here; 2018

An interactive installation that was first installed in 2018 at 106 Gallery in Grand Rapids, MI. It instructs viewers to take raw, wet clay and throw it at the wall. Once the clay makes contact with the wall a new message is displayed.

The full text reads -

“Thank you and now a message. You are a history of sound - moving, twisting, turning, bending, folding, flying. Sound does not stay. It moves. It defies. You are a history of sound.”

After the last slide the text resets and reads, “throw here”.

The Prompt: Take a piece of clay and throw it at the wall. The resulting sound travels through the building, through the walls, and eventually dissipates. You are now in conjunction with others who have moved through walls, rejoice! We are sound! We are action!
